Step-by-Step Application

Step 3: Apply the Primer
Use the primer recommended for the substrate and polyurethane system. Apply a thin, even coat without puddles. Allow it to become ready for overcoating within the stated window. If the primer becomes contaminated or exceeds its recoat time, follow the manufacturer’s instructions before continuing.
Step 4: Treat Roof Details

Step 5: Apply the First Coat

Step 6: Apply Additional Coats
Allow the first coat to cure within the specified recoat window. Apply the next layer in a different direction to improve uniformity. Most systems require two or more coats, but the correct result is controlled by total consumption and dry-film thickness rather than the number of passes alone.
Step 7: Inspect and Protect the Membrane
Inspect the cured polyurethane waterproof coat for pinholes, bubbles, thin areas, contamination and damage. Repair defects with compatible material and recheck the final thickness where required. Protect the completed roof from rain, traffic, tools and following trades until it has fully cured.
Coverage, Thickness and Number of Coats
