What Are Waterproof Materials?

The finished waterproofing system may be installed on roofs, walls, foundations, slabs, tunnels, bridges, balconies, bathrooms and water-retaining structures.

Water resistance depends on more than the base material. Substrate preparation, joint treatment, membrane overlaps, wet-film thickness, curing conditions, drainage design and detailing around penetrations all influence long-term performance. 1. HDPE Pre-Applied Waterproof Membranes

High-density polyethylene membranes are widely used below ground, especially beneath basement slabs and against concrete walls. Pre-applied systems are installed before concrete placement.
